ChowRush puts you on the bike. You collect a real meal from a real restaurant, weave through traffic and potholes, and get it to the customer before time runs out. Do it well and you earn real Terrachow points.
Here's everything you need to know.
Where to find it
Open the Terrachow app and look for ChowRush on your home screen. Pick your city (Ilorin, riding through Tanke, or Yaba, Lagos), choose a mission and tap Start.
How a delivery works
- Ride to the restaurant. Follow the road to the pickup, slow down, and stop inside the yellow bay. Hold still while the Terrabag is handed over.
- Deliver it. With the meal on board, race to the customer. On Batch deliveries you'll drop meals with several customers along the way.
- Beat the clock. Each mission has a time limit. Potholes damage the bike and slow you down; hitting traffic ends the ride.
Missions and points
Every mission shows its points before you start, and harder rides pay more:
- Short delivery (Tutorial): 10 points
- Local delivery (Easy): 15 points
- Standard delivery (Medium): 25 points
- Long delivery (Hard): 30 points
- Advanced challenge (Expert): 50 points
- Batch delivery (unlocks after the Advanced challenge): 75 points
Points are added to your normal Terrachow points balance once each delivery has been checked. You can earn up to 250 ChowRush points a day (Lagos time) and up to 2,500 per ChowRush campaign. When you're close to a limit, a mission shows the smaller amount you can still earn. Crashed, missed or unfinished rides don't earn points.
What can your points get you?
ChowRush points go into the same balance as the points you earn from ordering. Spend them in the app under Profile → Points → Redeem Points:
- Free drink: 200 points
- ₦300 delivery credit (added to your Terrachow wallet): 500 points
- Free delivery: 1,000 points
- Free delivery + drink: 2,000 points
- Free delivery for 24 hours: 3,000 points
Free deliveries and free drinks are applied for you at checkout. Free delivery works on express orders.
In ride terms: one good day of riding (250 points) gets you a free drink with points to spare, and four good days get you a free delivery. Add the points from your orders and a full day of free delivery is within reach.
Controls
- Tilt: hold your phone comfortably, calibrate in Settings, then tilt to steer.
- Touch: prefer not to tilt? Switch to touch steering and drag on the road.
- Brake and accelerate buttons sit at the bottom. Turn on Auto throttle and the bike speeds up on its own; you just steer and brake.
- First or third person: tap 1P/3P to ride from the cockpit or behind the courier.
What's new in this update
Weather and night rides
Every ride gets its own weather: clear days, harmattan haze, rain, fog and night rides lit by your headlight. Want a particular one? Pick it in Settings → Weather. Weather only changes how the ride looks, so every rider has the same chance of earning points.
Close calls and combos
Pass traffic at speed with very little room to spare and you'll get a Close call!, or a Razor close! if it's really tight. Chain them within a few seconds to build a combo up to ×5. They add up to a Style score you can beat on your next ride. Style is just for bragging rights: it doesn't change your points.
Crashes
Get it wrong and you'll see it: the bike goes down, the food box flies open and the meal ends up on the road. A crash ends the delivery, so brake early and keep a gap.
Points, Ride score and Chow Coins
Three different things, all earned by riding:
- Terrachow points are real rewards for completed deliveries. Spend them on free drinks, free delivery and delivery credit.
- Ride score rates how well you rode: distance, delivery, time left and safe riding. It decides your place on the weekly and all-time leaderboard.
- Chow Coins come from your Ride score (one coin for every 10 points of Ride score). Spend them in the Garage on looks for your rider. More about the Garage →
Tips from the team
- Start with the Short delivery to get the feel of the bike.
- Slow down early for the pickup bay: overshooting it ends the ride.
- Potholes cost you damage and time. Swerve if you can, but never into oncoming traffic.
- Use auto throttle if you're playing on the move.
