If you've used Terrachow, you've probably noticed our delivery fees are significantly lower than other platforms. The secret? Batch delivery: a smart routing system that benefits everyone: you save money, restaurants get more orders, and our riders work more efficiently.
What is Batch Delivery?
Batch delivery groups multiple orders heading to the same area and delivers them together during scheduled 2-hour windows. Instead of one rider making individual trips, we optimize routes so one rider can efficiently deliver multiple orders on a single trip.
Think of it like carpooling for food delivery: everyone shares the ride, everyone saves money.
How It Works
1. Order Placement
When you place an order, you choose between:
- Instant Delivery - Traditional immediate delivery (standard fees apply)
- Batch Delivery - Scheduled delivery within the next 2-hour window (up to 50% savings)
2. Smart Matching
Our algorithm groups orders by:
- Destination area (e.g., Faculty of Engineering, Hostel Block A)
- Timing preferences
- Restaurant pickup points
3. Route Optimization
The system calculates the most efficient route considering:
- Pickup locations
- Drop-off points
- Traffic patterns
- Delivery time windows
4. Coordinated Delivery
One rider picks up multiple orders and delivers them along an optimized route. Your food stays fresh in insulated bags, and you still get real-time tracking.

Common Questions
"Will my food get cold?"
No! All deliveries use insulated thermal bags, and the entire route is completed within 30-45 minutes. Your food arrives at the same quality as instant delivery.
"Can I track my order?"
Yes! Real-time tracking works the same way. You'll see exactly where your rider is and receive updates at each step.
"What if I'm in a rush?"
Choose instant delivery! We offer both options so you can pick what works best for your situation.
"How much will I actually save?"
Savings vary by distance and demand, but our users typically save 30-50% on delivery fees. The app shows exact pricing before you confirm.
